Advanced orthopaedics.

Cruciate repair, fracture work and complex joint surgery, all in-house — by a clinician with an advanced GP certificate in small animal surgery.

Orthopaedic x-ray taken at River Vets

What we treat.

Most lameness has a fixable cause. We work it up properly — examination, x-rays under sedation, sometimes joint taps or MRI referral — before we start cutting. When surgery is the right answer, you'll get a written plan with a quote and a frank conversation about outcomes.

Cruciate ligament repairTPLO and lateral suture techniques, depending on the dog. Both done in-house with the right kit and an experienced surgeon.
Fracture repairPlates, pins and external fixators. We see most of these through from accident to follow-up x-ray ourselves.
Patella stabilisationFor luxating kneecaps in small dogs — a common cause of skipping lameness in cavaliers, terriers and the like.
Joint investigationArthroscopy referral, advanced imaging and chronic pain management for older dogs.

Aftercare that doesn't end at discharge.

Orthopaedic surgery is only as good as its aftercare. Every patient leaves with a written rehab plan, scheduled re-checks at no extra charge, and direct access to the team who operated. Recovery is a project we do with you — not a leaflet handed at the till.
